INDIGENOUS & GOVERNMENT
AJ Bird is a former Toronto Police officer and business trainer who parlayed her strong negotiation, research, and interpersonal skills to the clean technology and renewable energy sectors in 2016. Her work is focused on identifying market opportunities, building effective relationships, government relations, and promoting energy security.
AJ is a staunch advocate of reducing greenhouse gas emissions while also strengthening the economics of clean energy with business interests.
AJ studied at the University of Regina and First Nations University of Canada, as well as a brief stint at University of Saskatchewan College of Law while residing in Saskatchewan. A family move took her to Indiana where she was a devoted lacrosse mom. Upon becoming an empty nester she then attained an Executive Certificate in Business Negotiations from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame transitioning her Hostage & Barricaded Persons Negotiator training from the Canadian Police College into a business skill set.
As a proud member of Deninu K’ue First Nation in the Northwest Territories, AJ continues her clean energy work as a Board Advisor for Indigenous and Strategic Relations for Dream Sky Integrated as well working with Nova Water of Canada as a Director and Executive Vice-President of Business Development.
In her spare time, she is a devoted dog mom and enjoys spending time in the great outdoors in all seasons.
